Mom's Surgery Update

Hey all. Some of you know that my mom has had kidney problems for the last several years. The left kidney had died from all the trauma over the years and was surgically removed this past Thursday. The surgery was textbook and the other kidney is adjusting to being alone, although it has been doing all the work for probably two years. She has had problems with the pain and the doctors have finally managed to get the pain level down. She will possibly be coming home either Sunday or Monday, depending on how she does. Finally eating solid foods again after have nothing but 8 ounces of water for 2 days. Been a long and stressful few days, but the recovery at this point is coming along, even if it is taking longer than expected. Thanks to everyone who has sent flowers, cards, food, and surprised us with phone calls from other parts of the country to check on her condition. We appreciate everything and hope the recovery continues to go well at home.
