The Mighty Thoroughbred

Ah yes, it is May. A lot of things happen in May...such as May flowers, May Day, Mother's Day, my birthday!, Memorial Day...and I can't forget...Derby Day! I finally checked out the horses running in the derby a few days before. I knew I did not want the early favorite, nor did I want a long shot. But when I saw the Matz trained horse from Texas, I knew he was it. Barbaro not only won as one of the few undefeated horses to win this race, but he annihilated the field with the fastest stretch run since Secretariat. Wow, just wow. I like this horse. Not as much as the infamous Smarty Jones, but this horse has me won. I had to settle for watching a replay on the internet as I had to work, but when I used an employee for his "sidekick" to get online to find out who won, I was thrilled. I know, I am weird. Okay. so it's been a few weeks. I am done with the spring semester (all A's :-D). Start summer session in a couple weeks. Yeah rah. Got some extra hours at work this week, so that comes in handy. Good news from Natalie that her and Kyle are adopting a baby girl after she is born this summer. We have her baby shower this weekend. Can't wait to see her. I will have Lisa's baby shower to go to too. So many babies! What for me! I just got me a boyfriend! Haha.

Took some good pictures of my mighty thoroughbred, Jake, a few days ago. Look at my boy! How awesome is he! For all of you who saw him after I got him, is he not a different horse? He is doing so well. He has not been all manly this spring while he is in hand. The last two springs he would disrespect me and everyone else to the point I would leave in tears. But this year, wow, he is a perfect gentleman in hand and is riding very well. I think someone traded horses on me. Cause this Jake is the Jake I fell in love with. Evil Jake is gone! Haha. He is a sweetie.
