Snowed in...

Well, I'm snowed in and bored. So hey, thought I would take some time to update! I know, exciting. Anyways, so I am stranded in Lafayette. Looks like I will be here for a few days, taking refuge at Chris's parent's house. I called in to work, even though I was only a couple miles away and most likely could have made it, but they declared a snow emergency at noon, so it is a good thing I stayed put. Most of the city is closed, and my biggest entertainment of the day is watching Angus, the family scotty terrier, attempt to pee in snow that is deeper than he is tall. But since there is yellow snow, I think he succeeded.

As you could guess, Ivy Tech is closed. I am so very disappointed. This will be the second phlebotomy class I will have missed in two weeks, both due to winter storms. Now it looks like I will be missing my clinical tomorrow, since the snow emergency lasts til tomorrow. But, Im not too depressed. But yeah, school sucks. Keeping up on the homework is fun to say the least. I am very much annoyed with my administrative equivalent course that I have to take over the internet. The instructor has been MIA for two weeks, and I have not had any feedback on any homework during that time. I took the first exam yesterday and did poorly. My first C in ages. I had to take it on the computer, and it graded it on the spot. It counted me wrong on three problems because I ommited dollar signs! And you are not supposed to use signs in accounting, or so I was told, and thought. But what do I know. Since the instructor does not seem to care, my C will most likely stay a C, and my 4.0 gpa will plummit. Wonderful crappy Ivy hell. Grrr.

Jake is doing well. He is fat, furry, and as sassy as ever. I am sure he is bored senseless with his butt firmly resting on his stall door and mad because he has a cribbing collar on and cannot chew his way out of there. Trust me, he would if he could. I think he was a beaver in a previous life. I have not ridden in ages. I need to get in shape so I can got ride Harley, Heather's new stud muffin. He is so cute. And he jumps! So I need to get in gear so I can sail over some sticks! And not land head first (or butt first) into the dirt, as Heather seems determined to!

Chris and I had an early Valentine's Day. We went to Olive Garden courtesy of my grandma and her husband Ron (thanks so much!!!) before the storm. Chris gave me a teddy bear from the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. dressed up as a hunter. He is so cute! I need to get a photo up of him. His name is Sir Hunter Huntington. Yup, I named him. Haha. His little riding helmet doesnt seem to want to stay on, so I have it tucked behind his ears, lol.

Work out update: blizzard recess :-P. My firm equipment is stranded in Mulberry, so I did the 30 minute cardio on Chris's parent's eliptical (spelling). It is wonderful on the knees, which have been bothering me so much lately. To the point my hip is feeling it. Must be the weather, cause the pain started about the time the subfreezing temps started in here. But I tell you, my joints should not feel like this yet! I have had to go to an "Easier" firm workout with less fanny lifting (lol) cause my knees could not take it. I am ready for spring so my joints behave better!

Well, I think that is all the updating that I have for now. Hope everyone digs out ok. Looks like I am a Lafayette resident for a few days. Bye!
